I'm Usama, but you can call me Sam. Nice to meet you! I hope you're all doing well and enjoying your day. You might be curious about how I ended up here, right? (A little movie reference for you there!) Well, let me take you through my journey.
In the midst of my pre-medical studies, I had a realisation—it wasn't quite my cup of tea. I've always been drawn to a more creative lifestyle and had a knack for design. So, back in 2016, I took the plunge and enrolled in BA Visual Communications Design. It was a blast! From crafting physical art pieces to delving into visual designs and illustrations, I explored it all.
Hello everyone!

Fast forward two years, and I found myself gravitating towards the digital realm of design. There's just something about mastering design software that clicks with me. Fun fact: I whipped up the initial house layout for my parents' home on AutoCAD in under two days! (Granted, Mum had sketched it out on paper first, but still, pretty nifty, right?) But that's a story for 2019...
During my initial years at university, I dipped my toes into freelance branding and product design work. Then, in 2018, a friend and I embarked on our own startup adventure. Convincing clients why we were the right fit was always a thrill. I met some fantastic people along the way, making it a year to remember.

So, 2019 rolls around, and I found myself crossing the pond to pursue my Bachelor's in Graphic Design in the UK. I delved into various aspects of graphic design, from branding to motion graphics, print design, and product design. Bridging my East Asian design sensibility with Western influences was quite the challenge, let me tell you!
Fast forward to 2021—I graduated and landed a job as a motion graphics artist even before donning the cap and gown. Little did I know, there was still so much more to learn, especially when it came to tools like After Effects and Animate. It was an exhilarating journey, creating captivating motion graphics for our clients. But, as they say, change is the only constant. A few months down the line, I felt the pull towards product design. It's something I've grown to love immensely. The thrill of crafting products that resonate with users is unbeatable. Plus, I have a soft spot for Figma. Some of my colleagues joke that Figma should sponsor me, given how much I rave about it!

So, there you have it—my journey over the past eight years. I like to think of myself as a versatile designer, ready to tackle any challenge thrown my way. And remember, learning never stops!
Outside of the design world, you'll find me cheering on my favourite Formula 1 team, indulging in different cuisines, and occasionally exploring new destinations. Oh, and just to clear the air—I'm firmly on Team "No Pineapple on Pizza."
Feel free to take a peek at my projects, and if you have something in mind, I'm always up for a chat!
